Ciao bella!
A while ago I had the privilege to go to Milan Fashion Week for my job and today I think it is time that I share with you one of the most amazing experiences of my trip to Milan Fashion Week! Being able to sit front row at the Roberto Cavalli FW 2016 fashion show!
It was not the only spectacle I had seen during my visit, but the Roberto Cavalli show was by far the best, in my humble opinion, collection wise!
It’s going to be a pretty long read so get ready and let me know what you think about this type of article. Would you like to read more of these or not? 🙂 I can’t wait to hear your thoughts!

Roberto Cavalli FW 2016 fashion show
“On Wednesday the 24th of February during the first evening of Milan Fashion Week, Roberto Cavalli’s Peter Dundas showed his upcoming Fall/Winter collection with the press and buyers during his half-yearly fashion show. This time the show took place near the Duomo di Milano at the Salone d’Oro in the Societa del Giardino. A gorgeous venue with the most beautiful chandeliers, and thus the perfect venue for a show with this much grandeur.
Inspired by the free-spirited Cavalli woman, her sensuality and her love for luxury, Peter Dundas started to create the ‘Divine Decadence’ collection. As said by Roberto Cavalli: ‘Divine Decadence is an ode to the louche, lean and sinuous woman of the Art Nouveau’, which is clearly visible in the slender silhouettes. The shoulders are narrow while the sleeves are full, inspired by the late sixties.
Within the collection we see a fusion of the Belle Epoque (the time in which Art Nouveau came up), and late sixties glamrock. This fusion created a style that is both very feminine, very natural and curvy, but at the same time it is edgy, mystical, eccentric, outspoken and androgyn. The colors of the pieces are rich and deep like petrol, purple, forest green, combined with hints and details in gold, lavender and Tiffany blue. With the Divine Decadence collection Peter Dundas is looking to find the true essence of a femme fatale.
The collection is perfect for today’s young rock-chic women who love to wear cropped jackets with high-waisted pants, flared jeans, long maxi coats and crystal embellished dresses with a long and slender silhouette. The embroideries play a big role in the collection, creating a mystical style. In the collection lines are blurred, historic tradition is mixed with modern style, male with female, and preciousness with effortless casual elegance. A collection with a fresh and new sensuality, for a new Cavalli woman.”
My thoughts…
It was an amazing show to witness and I was madly in love with some of the designs! The details in the embroideries, the flared trousers, long coats, it was beautiful to see! I felt so honoured being able to be there and to be sitting on the freaking front row as well! I really hope that with this article you can experience the Roberto Cavalli FW 2016 fashion show a little bit for yourself as well…
