Travel: 24 hours in London

London travel report sarandaadriana sarandipity fashion blog8

Ciao dearies,

Two weeks ago I went to London for a bit more than 24 hours and today I am telling you a bit more about this long day I spend in London! As normally when I go on a trip with my boyfriend it was quiet the adventure haha.

On Thursday morning we had an early flight from Eindhoven to London Stansted airport. As we flew at 8 and we went back in time for one hour we also landed around 8 o’clock and so we would have a really long day in this gorgeous city. At least that’s what we thought. Normally when I fly with Ryanair I am on my way from the airport home or to the city center in just 20 minutes. But London Stansted is HUGE(!) for a regional airport, plus there was this weird check in thing we needed to do with our passports… Ah well, we arrived in the city around 11:00 and first we went to see the financial district as it was my boyfriends birthday gift and he really wanted to see the big skyscraper buildings from the biggest investment banking firms.

Read on after the read more button and see some of my other photos! ๐Ÿ™‚

Baci,
Saranda

At the financial district. Everything here was so modern! There was an above ground metro at this part of the city as well and it went in between some of the huge skyscrapers which felt pretty futuristic to me haha.

When we walked to the center of the city to check out the sites and do some shopping we saw this little guy and I fell in love! Look at this cutie, I have always loved squirrels! And he/she was not shy at all as you can see haha. Unfortunately we did not have nuts or anything so I could not feed the squirrel but this little creature got a huge grin on my face for the rest of the day haha.

We didn’t have the best weather but this could not ruin our day! ๐Ÿ™‚

Do you know the Night at the Museum movies? Well the Natural History museum in London feels like you just stepped foot inside the set of one of those movies. There is a HUGE dino in the central hallway and the architecture of this museum is just amazing! I think we walked around in this museum for around 2 hours. Since it is free to visit you can expect a very busy museum by the way.

After the museum it was time to have the first shopping stop, or maybe this counts as sightseeing?! I felt like a kind in a candystore in all the London shops I visited, everything was huge and I loved the (Christmas) decorations everywhere. In London they definitely know how to make you stay in the store a little bit longer. For example look at this cute elevator hallway?! Of course I also visited the Victoria’s Secret store, which I will tell you more about later ๐Ÿ™‚

Some more sightseeing! From top to bottom: The London Eye with a pretty lantarn, The Big Ben, The London Eye again, Double-decker busses(!), Houses of Parliament garden + building.

When it turned dark we ended the day with some more shopping (everything was open until 9). Went for a yummy dinner at Honest Burger and spend our eveningย visiting a cocktail bar with some crazy but seriously good cocktails! Around 4ย o’clock in the morning we took the Stansted Express train back to the Airport and there we chilled and waited for our flight back home. The day after we slept like babies until dinner time haha.

It was an exhausting but great adventure and I can’t wait to visit London again sometime soon! ๐Ÿ™‚
