Happy Monday! Yesterday were the 87th annual Academy Awards, A.K.A. the Oscar’s of 2015 and I picked my top 10 Oscar’s red carpet favorite dresses! Being a woman, I think it’s important to also share my view that OF COURSE, these award shows are about MORE than only looking pretty and wearing fancy designer gowns! As a lot of actresses yesterday shown to the media. These girls and feminine examples for young women and girls are WAY MORE than just pretty! They have talent (maybe not all of them in acting or singing but that is a discussion of taste ;)) and are strong, independent women.
As I am a fashion blogger though, I would love to talk about my Oscar’s red carpet favorites! Right now I am watching the whole show and I think Birdman definitely deserved all the wins, it was a really intriguing movie, with a lot of psychology and drama. Also the acting in this movie was grant!
Okay, back to the dresses! Above you can see my top 10 of dresses. I adored the dress Keira Knightley wore from Valentino, it really suits her well and it looks super pretty with her baby belly! Rita Ora also looked stunning in her custom made gown by Marchesa, did you know she also had a bodyguard just because her jewelry was so expensive?! Adam Levine’s girlfriend and Victoria’s Secret model Behati Prinsloo looked amazing in this red and black Armani Privé dress. But I ADORE the dress from Miu Miu Kerry Washington wore to last nights Oscar’s! It suits her so well, it iluminates her skin tone and the details in this dress are just gorgeous. And Sienna Miller rocked the red carpet in a very detailed black dress by Oscar de la Renta.
Read on to read the rest of my opinion on these gowns and find out which gown was my ultimate favorite!
On the second row we see Chrissy Teigen wearing a gorgeous diamond blue dress by Zuhair Murad. I think this dress is super pretty but I would not wear it because it showed both a lot of leg and a lot of cleavage. I’d rather wear a dress that would highlight one of the two hehe. Than we see a very interesting Dior Haute Couture gown worn by Marion Cotillard. This dress is really interesting and is a very fresh touch to all the other gown’s I think, the punched dots give the dress a playful and bit futuristic look. I am ending my Top 10 with two gorgeous gowns by Ellie Saab! I always love her work and Jennifer Lopez and Emma Stone both look absolutely stunning in these gorgeous gowns! Well done!
Now for the last dress, I have seen it in a lot of worst dressed posts already, but I actually like the dress! Chloë Grace Moretz is wearing a gown by Miu Miu and I think the styling could have been way better, but it’s not the dress per sé. I think the dress itself looks really pretty but Chloë maybe should have put her arms somewhere else and I also think that the dress would have look better on someone with a longer silhouette. What do you think ??
And now for my ultimate favorite gown of this years Oscar’s *drums*
Keira Knightley’s dress by Valentino!!
